Spain's Prime Minister has today issued a statement confirming that facemasks will be NO LONGER required outdoors from 26 June providing social distancing can be maintained. For those of us who've been living and working in Spain since the start of this covid-era, this feels like a lovely psychological boost and a massive step towards normality if such a thing still exists! Summer here and 35 degree plus heat for six weeks is pretty tough with a perspiration-ridden paper mask so we are feeling like a 'beach party' is in order! Vaccination rates are high here now, infection rates are lower than the UK - the 7 day rate is down at about 50/100,000 people so we do feel there is much to be positive about! European buyers are already arriving and it is just a shame - irrespective of reason - why UK visitors are still expected to self-isolate for ten days on their return home. Our money is on an opening up to UK double-jabbed visitors by July.
